Becoming a member

Abbenay Hackspace is a non-profit organisations which works to facilitate what the members want to do.

In order to do this we have created a so called "förening" in Young Resaerchers. This lets us use the UFS office, apply for funding, etc. Young Researchers exists to promote the interest of science and technology among young people. We (Young Researchers and Abbenay) believe that a hackspace does this. You can become a member of this förening.

You can also continue to be active in Abbenay without being a member of said förening. A good way of doing this is simply joining the mailing list. (and joining our irc channel #abbenay@irc.tinfoilnet.nu:6697 (ssl))

What is expected from you

By becoming a member of Abbenay the förening you must accept our bylaws

We do not exclude anyone, our only criteria is that all members of Abbenay do the same (i.e. do not discriminate) and that they follow our bylaws and respect that we make statements as a group and that we do not promote illegal activites. Non-members are welcome to attend meetings and workshops too but have no formal say in decisions Abbenay make. That being said, Abbenay makes few formal decisions, Abbenay exists to promote our members activity such as building things or learning.

Privacy

Abbenay will share information about members to Young Researhers Sthlm UFS and Young Researchers Sweden FUF, organizations which Abbenay are member of and who sponsor our acitivites. We do not share said information with anybody else.

UFS and FUF do not share this information with a third party (except for maybe the Swedish National Board of Youth Affairs if there is suspicion of fraud, this has not happened so far) and they are well-known organizations that have certified acountants that review their books.

Why fill in form - I just wanna do stuff

This information is crucial to us when we apply for funding. By filling in the forms and accepting the bylaws you don't bind youself to do anything and we will not spam you, we will only send information about the demi-annual-meeting (we will not send information about weekly meetings or ongoing activities).

This form does not add you to the mailing list automaticaly, do to so click -> mailing list. This list contains emails about the weekly meeting and there are also non-members who post there.
